For the Pure in Heart
I’ve been reflecting a lot on purity lately. Purity is necessary if you want to further seek God’s face, to be near him or dwell in his presence. Because he’s holy. And it’s he who makes us holy and purifies us. But there are processes for us, as fallen humans, to lay down our own wills and desires, and say, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10). We might be going along in life well, but we still need to ask Yeshua if there is any unclean thing in us that needs to go. I think I’ve always practiced this throughout my life, but I admit it’s been more profound in the last few years. I believe that sometimes if we’ve been dwelling in a certain way for a prolonged amount of time, he might be calling us to stretch out, prune, grow from it, because he’s calling us higher. Higher toward him. He’s elevating us. To be elevated or advanced or promoted, however you want to call it, spiritually speaking, purity is necessary in the path of righteousne...
